Obtaining M. Com. M. Com. in Finance from the University of Dhaka, MBA (with Commonwealth Scholarship) from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, and PhD (with SSF Scholarship) in Finance from the Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece

Mohammad Sadiqul Islam has been teaching in the University of Dhaka for about 35 years. Presently he is a professor in the Department of Finance, University of Dhaka. He obtained M.Com in Finance from the University of Dhaka, MBA from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, and PhD in Finance from the Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece. He is working as the Supervisor of a number of students in PhD, DBA and M. Phil. programs. He also worked as PhD thesis examiner of the Aligarh Muslim University of India and the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. He was the Executive Editor of the Journal of Finance and Banking. He served in the editorial board of a number of journals. He worked as an expert member for curriculum development in the University of Dhaka, University of Chittagong, United International University and National University. He is the Chair of Program Self-Assessment Committee for ensuring institutional quality assurance of the academic programs of the Department of Finance, University of Dhaka. He was the team leader for evaluating the institutional quality assurance of the Bangladesh University of Business and Technology. He has been serving as a member of academic council of a number of institutions. He organized a number of international conferences. He presented research papers and participated in a number of conferences held in Bangladesh, Australia, USA, Japan, United Arab Emirates, Thailand and India. He organized a number of training programs under the University of Dhaka. He is a Qualified Cost and Management Accountant and a fellow member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh. He is a Director of the Center for Corporate Governance and Finance Studies, University of Dhaka and life member of the Finance Alumni Association, University of Dhaka. He authored a number of research monographs, research articles, working papers and cases. He was awarded Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship for pursuing MBA program and SSF Scholarship for pursuing PhD program in Greece.

Mr. S A Mallick is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). After completing his chartered accountancy article ship from Rahman & Rahman Huq, a member firm of KPMG, he started his working life as a valued executive in Karnaphuli Fertilizer Company (KAFCO) Ltd. which is the largest international joint venture in Bangladesh. Having served as a decisive member in various key positions in KAFCO for 14 years, he gained hands-on experience that set the stage for him to move up the ladder and hold leading positions within the Company. Through gaining this lasting experience after 14 long years, he joined New Zealand Dairy Products Bangladesh Limited, where he has been running the company as the Managing Director since the last 19 years. In his early days as a student, Mr. Mallick also earned lasting praises for his glorious achievements of earning a professional MBA degree from the London School of Technology & Research and completing his M. Com in Accounting from Rajshahi University. Apart from this, Mr. Mallick is member of different sub-committees of Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce (MCCI), Bangladesh Employers Federation (BEF) and The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). He is the current president of Intellectual Property Association of Bangladesh (IPAB), Rotary Club of Dhanmondi, Dhaka & Rajshahi University Accounting Alumni Association (RUAAA). </div>

Samsul Alam Mallick FCA

With an eventful and startling career, Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur started his work life as a lecturer in the Department of Economics in the prestigious University of Dhaka in 1976.

Dr. Mansur started his career as a Lecturer, Department of Economics, University of Dhaka in 1976. Dr. Mansur joined the International Monetary Fund under its Economist Program in 1981 and thereafter completed his PhD in Economics (On general equilibrium analysis) from the University of Western Ontario, Canada in 1982. During his long career in the IMF, Dr. Mansur has worked on Middle Eastern, Asian, African and Central American countries. He worked in important functional departments (Fiscal Affairs and Policy Review and Development departments) and area departments (Middle East and Central Asia and Asian departments) of the IMF. He also served as the IMF Senior Resident Representative to Pakistan during 1998-2001 and as the Fiscal Advisor to the Minister of Finance, Government of Bangladesh (1989-91). During his assignment in Bangladesh, Mr. Mansur was primarily involved with the successful introduction of Value Added Tax in Bangladesh in 1991. In his last IMF assignment, he served as the Division Chief of the Middle East and Central Asia Department. After taking early retirement from the IMF, with a view to establishing an institute aimed at policy analysis, in coordination with other professionals, Dr. Mansur joined the Policy Research Institute of Bangladesh as its founder Director and Executive Director in 2009. In the meantime, PRI has established itself as a leading think tank in Bangladesh and engages extensively with the Government on major fiscal, financial, trade policy and planning issues. Dr. Mansur has published extensively in various prestigious journals (Including Econometric, Journal of Economic Theory and IMF Staff Papers), edited books on special Economic topics and in the IMF occasional Paper and Working Paper series. He also edited a book (With Fernando Delgado) on Stock Market Developments in the Countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, published by Palgrave Macmillan in its Finance and Capital Markets Series, November, 2008. Mr. Mansur writes extensively on contemporary Economic and Socio-economic issues in leading newspapers and appears regularly in TV programs in Bangladesh. Presently, Dr. Mansur is performing as an Independent Director in Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC.
