Mr. Md. Rafiqul Islam, FCS is a Chartered Secretary professional having more than 20 years’ rich and varied exposures in business and Corporate Management with numbers of Public Listed Companies (Non-Banking Financial Institutions, Pharmaceutical and Manufacturing Companies) both home and abroad. Before joining with Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC. Mr. Islam worked as Head of Corporate Affairs and Company Secretary with The ACME Laboratories Limited. Besides, he also worked at LankaBangla Finance Limited, Pancam (Thailand) Co. Limited and International Leasing and Financial Services Limited in various capacities. At present, Mr. Islam is working as Senior Executive Director & Company Secretary of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC. As a highly competent Company Secretary, he is responsible for ensuring Company’s statutory, listing and legal compliances as per relevant laws of the land as well as responsible for maintaining high standards of Corporate Governance. Mr. Islam is acting as a point of communication between the Board of Directors and Company’s shareholders and Management. He ensures that Board procedures are followed and regularly reviewed and provides updated information to the Chairman and the Directors on their responsibilities under various laws. Apart from his diverse role as Company Secretary, Mr. Islam is also Member Secretary of the Audit Committee, Nomination and Remuneration Committee (NRC), Risk Management Committee and Board CSR Committee of the Company. Mr. Islam is skilled in handling of IPO both under Book Building Method and Fixed Price Method including Rights Issue, AGM and EGM. He has Excellent Communication Skills, Relationship Management Skills and Multi-Tasking Skills. He is a fellow member of Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB). He completed his Masters in Governance Studies from the University of Dhaka. Subsequently, he completed MBA in Marketing from a reputed private university. He is also the Life Member of Bangladesh Accounting Association (BAA).
